UC Berkeley's AI Hackathon is here! 
UC Berkeley, Cal Hacks, and Berkeley SkyDeck are bringing you two days of hacking on the best AI technology the world has to offer. With support from OpenAI, Microsoft, Langchain, LlamaIndex, Pinecone, and more, this will be a monumental event no future AI/LLM developer can afford to miss. You'll even have chance to join Berkeley SkyDeck's portfolio of startups and receive $50,000 in funding. This event is your chance to explore the potential of large language models and other open source APIs, all while making a lasting impact in the world of artificial intelligence.

 

Requirements

  • Submit your hack by 6/18 2:00PM PDT and make sure to add your teammates! You'll have until 2:30PM to continue hacking and editing your submission, but the project must be submitted by 2:00PM.
  • Include an image of your project and GitHub repository for any code to be considered.
  • Include the table number you're presenting from and the Hacker ID of one team member in your group.
  • Previous projects are allowed, but you must declare what you've worked on during and before the hackathon

Best Use of Hume AI

In this hackathon, we invite you to explore the fascinating intersection of artificial intelligence, empathy, language and expression. Your task is to leverage the powerful capabilities of Hume AI, bring empathy to an AI application and enhance its ability to engage in meaningful interactions with users. The winner gets $1000 in Cash, $500 Hume Credits and a meeting with Dr. Alan Cowen, CEO & Chief Scientist of Hume AI.

Best Use of Featureform (3)

We'd like to offer a $1k prize for the "Best use of Featureform" Judging criteria will be based on creativity, usefulness, quality of project, and amount of Featureform usage.

Best Knowledge Intensive LLM App by LlamaIndex (3)

The best knowledge intensive LLM app will get a prize of 1K. This project must leverage a knowledge base of custom data, preferably interesting data formats (e.g. some aspects of structured/unstructured/semi-structured) and tackle complex queries, preferably those that require synthesis over multiple documents/data sources.

Best use of Langchain (2)

Top prize can either appear on a LangChain-hosted webinar or be featured on the LangChain blog.

Best use of Solana (3)

Solana is awarding 3 Prizes for the best projects integrating AI with Solana Blockchain.Your mission is to utilize the robust abilities of the Solana Blockchain, integrating AI to create innovative applications or solutions. The winners can look forward to these exciting prizes: 1st Place - $2,500 + Possibility of Breakpoint 2023 Scholarship for the team if they continue building on Solana. This scholarship includes travel flights to Amsterdam, Hotel in Amsterdam during Breakpoint and Breakpoint Tickets. 2nd Place - $1,000 cash. 3rd Place - $500 cash. Judging Criteria

  • Application
    Does the project have any feasible application in real life? Does it seem like something that someone could use or would actually have a benefit in the real world?
  • Functionality/Quality
    Is the project free of major bugs? Does it look appealing? The UI/UX doesn’t have to be absolutely perfect, but if we're having a hard time understanding the project by looking at it, there may be a problem.
  • Creativity
    Is this project unique and innovative? Is it a solution to a problem we have never seen before? A better way of doing something?
  • Technical Complexity
    The team should display a good level of knowledge in terms of the technology they’ve used in implementing their project.
